VoiceCon eNews: The Big Tent
As you can plainly see, this newsletter has gone through a major transformation, the first substantial changes we’ve made in the six or so years of its existence. I don’t know if VoiceCon eNews is the oldest newsletter in the enterprise communications industry, but there sure weren’t many I can remember, back when we started.
Of course, the industry has changed massively in those six years, and so has the family of VoiceCon events and products. This newsletter was our first electronic venture under the VoiceCon brand, and since then it’s been followed by webinars, virtual events, an editorial blog/website (No Jitter), podcasts, vidcasts, and every other sort of medium that you can use to talk about enterprise communications.
The newsletter needed a better look, and it also needed to serve as a portal into the variety of content we have to offer you. Every Wednesday, the new VoiceCon eNews will update you on all the new products we have in stock, so to speak.
We’ll also offer you the editorial viewpoints that VoiceCon eNews and its sister publication, VoiceCon UC eWeekly, have delivered. UC eWeekly will discontinue as a standalone newsletter, and our friends and colleagues at UCStrategies.com will bring their cutting-edge insights on Unified Communications to the space just below this one in the new VoiceCon eNews.
Our aim is to send you one email that offers you original editorial perspectives and links to more content that you can use to stay abreast of trends in enterprise communications.
Please let us know what you think.

This Week’s UC Weekly - The UCstrategies.com team
Beginning this week, the UC eWeekly has a new home as part of
the updated format of the VoiceCon eNews. To our loyal readers,
welcome! We will continue to provide analysis of emerging
developments in the unified communications marketplace. To
our new readers, we are delighted to have the opportunity to
share our views about this important growth segment of the
communications industry.
Here is a brief introduction to the authors of this column.
Jim Burton, Blair Pleasant, Marty Parker and I co-founded
www.UCStrategies.com in 2006 as an independent website dedicated
to providing unbiased information about the dynamic growth of
the unified communications marketplace. Jim provides strategic
planning and partnering consulting services to industry vendors.
Blair is an industry analyst who does market research and
consulting, tracking UC issues and trends. Marty and I co-founded
UniComm Consulting, which helps enterprise clients plan, design,
and implement effective UC solutions.
In addition, we work with the TechWeb team to plan the UC-related
sessions at VoiceCon. Each week, an article will appear from one
of the four of us or from Fred Knight, editor and publisher of
this newsletter and co-Chair of VoiceCon. Leading up to VoiceCon
San Francisco, we will be writing about a number of important
issues, from the point-of-view of both enterprises working to
implement these solutions, and suppliers bringing them to market.
